What is Age Ayurveda Liver Plus ?

This is a combination of three herbs carefully selected for their hepaprotective properties that aid and assist liver functions. The Age Ayurveda Liver Plus formulation should be consumed to fight against constant pressure created on the liver due to the unhealthy consumption of food, drinks and modern medicines. This formulation is also useful in cirrhosis, jaundice, viral hepatitis and other liver disorders.

Kalmegh Out of the many medicinal properties of Kalmegh the two that stand out are its qualities as a liver stimulator and immunity booster. By balancing pitta in the blood and the liver, Kalmegh enhances the liver function, which in turn stimulates bile. It protects the liver against damages caused by free radicals owing to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Studies indicate that the active principle “Andrographolide” has shown notable results in activities such as hepatoprotective, anti-ulcer, antipyretic. It is used to reduce the toxic effect created due to jaundice. It has and also shown remarkable results in upper respiratory tract infections.
In a clinical study by Chaturvedi et al. (1983) notable results were seen for example a remarkable reduction in serum bilirubin, and significant improvements in the levels of ALP, SGPT and SGOT. Kalmegh as an immunity booster has been used for a long time due to its antimicrobial and immunomodulatory properties. Kalmegh was widely credited for arresting the 1919 Indian flu epidemic.

Kutki: Imbalance of Pitta interferes with bile secretion, and that is the first cause of liver dysfunction. The imbalance can be due to alcohol, cigarettes or fatty foods, even modern medicines contribute to liver damages. Kutki in Ayurveda has been anointed as a “yakkrduttejaka” a hepatoprotective agent that supports bile secretions and helps maintain liver functions. The Picroliv component found in kutki is attributed to these actions. The herb is very useful in cirrhosis, jaundice, viral hepatitis and other liver disorders.

Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia): A growing number of studies support guduchi’s role as an adaptogen and an immunomodulator. a potent herb that increases the body’s resistance to stress, anxiety, and illness. Ayurvedic medicine recognises guduchi for many activities such as anti-inflammatory, immuno-modulatory, antipyretic activity, anti-diabetic, anti-allergic and anti-arthritic activities and various other medicinal properties. Significantly its antioxidant properties help in supporting the liver and the immune system.
