The herbs are Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Pipali (Piper longum), Shatavari (Asperagus recemosus), Sonth (Zingiber officianale), Vidarikand (Pueraria tubrosa), Shuddha Bhallatak (Semecarpus anacardium) and Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia).
Let’s see the primary properties of these herbs as an immune-booster. This combination is recommended to be taken throughout the year as a key synergistic combo for immune-boosting effort, to continuously fight against viral, bacterial, and other infections.

SUPER SEVEN:

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera): “Ashwa”, meaning horse, is where the powerful herb gets its name. Ayurveda considers it a Rasayana and a rejuvenator, for which it is also known as the “Indian Ginseng”. Ashwagandha possesses the properties of being an effective adaptogen, which helps elevate the body’s resilience to stress. It strengthens the body’s defense mechanism against diseases by enhancing cell-mediated immunity. It also has antioxidant properties that fight against cellular damage caused by free radicals.

Pipali (Piper longum): Ayurveda recognises the ability of pipali to balance the two doshas Kapha and Vata, whose imbalance is the main cause of all “Swas Roga” respiratory diseases. Pipali with its properties of being a bronchodilator, decongestant, and an expectorant is effective in Asthma and other respiratory conditions.

Shatavari (Asperagus recemosus): “she who possesses 100 husbands”, implying its ability to increase fertility and vitality. Shatavari has a reputation as a fertility-enhancing plant that improves the health of both female and male reproductive issues. Shatavari in Ayurveda is a Rasayana that prevents aging, imparts immunity, improves mental function, and adds vigor and vitality to the body. It is considered anti-oxidant and immuno-modulatory in action.

Sonth (Zingiber officianale): Is another name for dried Ginger or as called in Hindi “Adrak”  Ginger powder has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Sonth can prevent inflammation and keep sinuses clear, Its also effective in Flu and aids in digestion. In India South ladoos (Sweet) is given to take away the ill effects of smoke pollution, and restore immunity.

Vidarikand (Pueraria tubrosa): Alcoholism is considered Tridoshaja, which weakens immunity. Vidarikand reduces symptoms of alcoholism, as a rasayana, by balancing the doshas and supporting “Ojas” by igniting “Agni”, thereby maintaining blood sugar levels. That helps prevent the damage to pancreatic cells and enhances insulin secretion which gets impaired due to the accumulation of Ama (toxic remains in the body due to improper digestion) in the body. Modern thought recognises The antioxidant property of Vidarikand helps remove free radicals from the body giving a boost to natural immunity.

Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia): A growing number of studies support guduchi’s role as an adaptogen and an immunomodulator. a potent herb that increases the body’s resistance to stress, anxiety, and illness. Ayurvedic medicine recognises guduchi for many activities such as anti-inflammatory, immuno-modulatory, antipyretic activity, anti-diabetic, anti-allergic and anti-arthritic activities and various other medicinal properties. Significantly its antioxidant properties help in
supporting the liver and the immune system.

Shuddha Bhallatak: Bhallatak is used in Ayurveda for pacifying Kapha Dosha. The imbalance of which suppresses the immune system giving rise to many disorders such as Rheumatoid arthritis, Diabetes, Myocardial Infarction, Asthma, and Piles. It has known to be used in Cancer as well. As the name suggests Bhallatak must be purified (shudha) before being used. Modern understanding of this herb recognises it as an anti-arthritic anti-atherogenic, anti-oxidant anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-carcinogenic anti-reproductives, hypoglycemic, and a CNS stimulant.
