What is Guduchi ?

Guduchi is popularly known as Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia) has been used in Ayurveda for centuries. Guduchi means imperishable in Sanskrit. This plant is again a native plant of India and has been used in its entirety including root, leaves, and dried matured pieces of stem for medicinal purposes.

How and where is Guduchi cultivated ?

Guduchi is a herbaceous shrub that is found throughout India climbing like a creeper on large trees. It has a soft stem and heart-shaped leaves and belongs to the Menispermaceae family. It grows in all conditions but prefers a warm climate. Guduchi can be planted as seeds or cutting made from the stem. It is advised to propagate them on trees such as Neem, Mango, or Peepal, by using organic manure.
